“ We love Antonio's! I'm in NYC about once a month for work, and this pizza is at least as good as the slices I've had in Manhattan (and better than many). They had 5 pizzas ready in the case, 3 NY style and 2 Sicilian style. I got the NY pepperoni, and hubs got Sicilian pepperoni with peppers and onions. Both were excellent. They use the kind of pepperonis we like, the small ones that get curly in the oven. The desserts (cookies, Italian rainbow cake, etc.) look fantastic, so we'll have to try those another time. My only complaint is that the canolis are already filled - I only get them if they're filled to order, otherwise they lose much of their crispness. To the reviewer who got cold pizza - my guess is that was an unfortunate fluke. Keeping pizza in an unheated case is absolutely standard for NYC pizzerias. If you kept them in a warming oven of some kind, they would dry out so fast, especially in Colorado. The mini ovens they use to reheat the pizza "aren't pizza ovens", but they look like they are specifically designed to reheat pizza quickly and easily. Our slices came out too hot to eat (in the best way). Also, good ricotta can be slightly yellowish due to using high quality, grass fed cow's milk. My guess is that they're not buying BS pure white ricotta, because they know what they're doing! ”
“ First, let me say that I'm an Italian American Jersey girl who has been complaining about the pizza in Colorado since we moved here eight years ago. (I'm happy we moved to this beautiful state for a list of reasons; it's just difficult to be surrounded by Italian American culture, including the incredible food, most of your life and then relocate to a place where that culture doesn't exist.) I can honestly say this place shocked me. I was expecting to be disappointed because I've tried so many pizza spots in CO with good reviews only to be like "mehhhh." The Colors of Italy pie is what really wowed me. It's SO flavorful with all the toppings, and the big dollops of sauce are one of the best parts of the pie (sweet with a little kick of spice)! My husband got a traditional NY cheese pizza, and it was good (on par with Rosalee's but with better crust). However, the specialty pie with its pesto, ricotta, basil, etc... OMG, so good! I can't wait to try some of the other pies (and will gladly take recommendations based on this review lol). We just discovered this place on Christmas Eve and already went back on New Year's for more delicious pizza, admittedly with hopes of running into the owner. I want to say thank you for bringing a piece of home to Colorado and for representing so well! Also, for those complaining about the price... Antonio's is no more expensive than any other pizza restaurant in downtown Longmont, and more importantly, this is what you pay for higher quality ingredients. I'd much rather pay on the higher-end-of-average prices for an amazing pizza than on the lower-end-of-average prices for greasy, flavorless nonsense. THANK YOU AGAIN! ”
